Why did gold go up today?
The local rate follows the international market. When gold rises in the world market, the per tola rate in Pakistan rises with it, because our sarafa rate is worked out from the dollar price of gold. A weak or strong rupee also makes a difference on the final figure.
One thing to remember before you buy
The rates above are the market rates of the metal only. Your jeweller will add making charges (banwai) on top, and those charges are different at every shop. So before paying, always ask the shop for the final rate of the day and the making charges in writing.
We update the gold rate on AajKeRates every day. If you are planning to buy or sell, check this page in the morning before you leave home.
